Job purpose

The focus of this role is to generate net new business for BELAY by actively seeking and developing meaningful relationships with contacts outside of the BELAY inner circle. Seeking partnership opportunities through influencers, industry specific networking efforts, and white labeling BELAY service offerings. While this person is people-focused, numbers-driven, and in the pursuit of relationships, they are also highly organized and comfortable with a CRM in the day-to-day.

As a member of the BELAY Corporate Team, you are expected to participate in phone calls and meetings (virtual and onsite), while serving as an example of the company’s mission: BELAY exists to glorify God by providing solutions that equip our clients with the confidence to climb higher.  

Duties and responsibilities

Business Development responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of BELAY’s services, products, and business model.
  • Understand our client persona and the needs of our target market.
  • Research target demographics, economic trends, customer needs, interests, and other data that can be used in creating strategies for business development.
  • Build and execute a strategic plan to manage and maintain a sales funnel, top to bottom with “closing” deals as the end goal.
  • Comfort and knowledge of selling Enterprise or Master Level Agreements with high growth potential.
  • Initiate contact with target markets, develop relationships to build awareness, and generate qualified leads.
  • Comfortable with remote work and traveling for events, client meetings, and networking opportunities.
  • Follow up with contacts to nurture the relationship, continue the education of how BELAY can serve them or their client base, and/or uncover more opportunities to network within their sphere of influence.
  • Actively and aggressively close qualified business opportunities while understanding the prospect’s needs and timing.
  • Meet and smash through monthly, quarterly, and annual quotas.
  • Apply an organized and systematic approach to your sales process, including but not limited to research and meeting preparation.
  • Utilize Socratic selling methods (effectively probe, uncover issues, articulate value, flesh out objections, define next steps, etc.) to educate prospects.
  • Collaborate with the internal BELAY team(s) as needed to serve our clients well.

Role Operations & Expectations

  • Proficient with a cloud-based CRM (Salesforce preferred) and updates daily activity, reporting, and deal status.  
  • Set schedules and manage time effectively and efficiently.  Own your calendar, activities, and tracking and be able to speak to it with leadership.
  • Collaborate with Director of Sales.
  • Be tech-savvy and proficient in the tools necessary to integrate into BELAY’s remote workplace culture.
  • Share information and best practices to position BELAY as a trusted advisor and partner.

Qualifications

The Business Development Representative (BDR) enjoys networking, meeting new people, and is passionate about sharing how BELAY can help organizations climb higher with our services. You are expected to demonstrate professionalism, show a sense of urgency, be organizationally savvy, be competitive, and be able to conduct relational and consultative selling at all times. Local day travel and occasional overnight trips are required.

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have experience, contacts, and understanding of sales and service in a services-based organization. Consultative sales experience is mandatory.
  • Proven track record of strategic networking and can articulate personal networking philosophy.
  • Must be a driven self-starter, a positive thinker, loyal and trustworthy.
  • Attributes of flexibility, creativity, self-discipline, strong organizational skills, and action orientation are essential for this role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player who is willing and able to “roll up the shirt sleeves” to get a project done when needed.
  • A high degree of autonomy with the capability of working remotely.

Working conditions

BELAY Corporate, as a virtual company, offers you the ability to work from home full-time. As such, a dedicated and secure work space, free of distractions is required. Our standard business hours are Monday-Friday. Some roles will require travel.

This role is a full time, exempt, W-2 role with our company. Competitive base pay with uncapped commission potential and a fantastic company benefits program. Pay Range

$100,000+ (uncapped) OTE
